Don’t Blame the Hurricane

Filed under: Insane in the Brain
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Bush administration will release oil from federal petroleum reserve to help refiners affected by Hurricane Katrina, Energy Secretary Samuel Bodman said Wednesday.

Let’s look at this a little closer.

Bush was asked, back in the spring to release oil from the reserve. At this time, the gulf coast refineries were still working. He refused.
Now, he has released crude oil to the refineries.
What refineries? And, how is it going to be moved?

Ten Percent of US refinery capacity is in the gulf, as that’s where the oil is. Since World War 2, most of the product, that is used in the Northeast comes from, what is called, the Colonial/Plantation Pipeline. This was designed to eliminate the supply being interrupted by ships being sunk.
This is one, continuous pipeline, from Texas to Massachusetts. ONE PIPELINE.
This is currently shut down. No power, no pumps. And, the pipeline itself is damaged.

In Atlanta, stations are limiting sales to $10.00, and some stations are selling regular for $4.99 a gallon. Think about that, for a minute.

So, let’s have a review. We invaded the third largest oil producer in the world, and are getting no fuel, after almost 3 years. We import the fuel for our troops from Kuwait. We pissed off the South American oil producers to the point, where they’re ready to tell us to shove it. And, we sat on the emergency oil supplies, until it was too late.
You know what the first thing Bush is going to demand when congress reconvenes? He is going insist that we must drill in Alaska. Makes sense…….right? WRONG!!!!!

If we started drilling tomorrow, we would not see 1 drop of oil for 10 years.
In addition, our own geologists tell us, that at the current rates of usage, there is only 8 months of oil there. Highly Sulpherous Crude.

10 years, so that we can run our toy’s for maybe, 8 months.

Due to this storm, there are an additional 1 million unemployed right now.
When the tourist seasons start, across the country, there will be an additional 10 million unemployed. How will anyone be able to afford the gas to go on vacation?

See this picture? This is what a reporter on FOX television called “Survivors” His direct quote was “I wouldn’t refer to these peoples as looters. They are only taking what they need to survive. So I call them survivors.”
Tell that to the owners of the jewelry stores, walmarts, car lots, appliance stores, and…..oh yeah…..grocery stores.

Never mind that these are not old or crippled people. They have no excuse for not leaving the areas when told to, by authorities.

Let ‘em die!

Who Will Pay?

Who Will Pay?

Hurricane Katrina is on the rampage. Extreme damage in Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Many people, who were told to evacuate, are being rescued from their cars, houses, and business’s.

With the exception of the name Katrina, or the names of the states, you see this headline at least once, if not several times a year.
What all these areas have in common are that they are directly on a river, lake, gulf, bay or ocean. Most if not all of these areas suffer damage nearly every year.
Since these are high risk areas, the people that want homeowners insurance must purchase it from the Federal Government. The policies start as low as $80.00 in low risk areas.
The most amazing part of this insurance is that you can get it and retain it no matter how many times you are flooded and submit claims. Yes, the rates increase, but obviously are nowhere close to the payouts.
In addition, these people also qualify for FEMA Disaster Relief aid. That is food, water, shelter, medical aid, police, National Guard.

Time for a Common Sense wake up call.

I am aware that many of these communities are hundreds of years old. I am also aware that new construction has been permitted to continue. Refineries, Chemical Plants Warehouses, Oil Rigs are built directly on the rivers.

WAKE UP PEOPLE! Everyone in the United States is paying to keep people living in areas that are continuously destroyed. FEMA’s funds come out of your pockets. Red Cross money comes from your donations. National Guard money comes out of your pockets.

Stop all rebuilding in flood zones. Stop all new construction, in those areas. Do not allow construction of any manufactured house, including mobile homes. Move all volatile chemical plants far inland

This includes resorts on the Atlantic coast, Gulf shores, and Texas coast.

It is patently ridiculous that we continue to pay for the largest Pork Barrel projects that have ever been seen.

Write to your Congress Critters, and say “No More Money for Stupidity”.

Katrina set to raise oil prices

Katrina has caused widespread damage in the Gulf of Mexico
Oil prices are likely to rise further this week after Hurricane Katrina caused producers in the Gulf of Mexico to halt production at the weekend.

Let’s see, the Storm raises oil prices, Pat Robertson raises oil prices, Jesse Jackson supports Hugo Chavez. THATS gonna raise oil prices. Cheney’s pace maker needs a new battery………well, you know what that’ll do.

Bush Rallies

One of the most interesting aspects of the counter Cindy rallies in Crawford, is that their spokeswoman, is a member of Marine Mom’s, whose son has served 2 tours of duty in Iraq.
He is also alive.
After checking the backgrounds of several of the counter-protesters it was found that they either had no children in the military, or theirs are still alive and stateside.
I am aware that Ben & Jerry’s founder, Ben Cohen is behind the media machine supporting Cindy Sheehan. And, a great amount of slickness is being used in the message.
But, I also know, that the people that Cindy comforts, or who surround her have lost children, as she has.
Leave it to the Neo-Cons to attempt the same show……..with actors.

Fool’s and their Lies

Besides the obvious bullshit lies that took us to Iraq, such as WMD’s, Saddam’s connection to 9-11, and the ever popular “He tried to kill my daddy,” there is the proof (?!?) that he murdered Kurds, Political Prisoners, and many others.

Since we have gone into Iraq, in 2002, approx. 26,719 civilians have been killed as a result of our invasion. Over 23 years, it has been said that Saddam killed over 61,000 citizens. If the law of averages applies to our current killing spree of 8906 Iraqi’s a year, in 23 years, we will manage to kill 204,838.
Now, these won’t all be from warfare. A large number will be from interrogations, prison conditions, destroyed water and sewage plants, and our militaries favorite, Depleted Uranium.

Now, we are attempting to install our will on the Iraqi’s by forcing a constitution on them, that they clearly do not want.

While all this has been going on, an illegally imprisoned Saddam sits and contemplates offers from the United States to “Throw the trial” in order to receive either a life prison term, in a US country club, or exile, to a sympathetic country. Why, you ask, would he do this? Rumsfeld, Cheney, and Bush.

Saddam knows where the bodies are buried (no pun intended), and who put them there.

Rumsfeld not only supplied Saddam with lethal gas, but supplied the mercenaries to assist him against Iran, and the Kurds.
Cheney and his connections to Haliburton have stood to rake in Billions upon Billions of dollars from stolen, unmetered oil, and the supplying of inflated priced goods, not only to the US Military, but to the Iraqi’s, as well.
And, the Bush Family, Poppy included, are the biggest worriers. For years they have been dealing with Saddam, against Iran, hiding their connections to the oil flowing out of Iraq, and using him as an “Ace in the Hole” against the Saudi Royal Family and Turkey.

If Saddam goes on trial, he’ll talk. If he is killed, in our custody, he will become a martyr. So, that leaves one choice. He’ll join Noriega and a few other high profile ex-rulers, or Idi Amin, wherever he is.

Before you, my dear, pissed off opposition start commenting furiously, on this article, ask yourself this. If the United States hands are soooo clean, why have Bush and company fought tooth and nail to distance us so far from being part of an International Court, which has been founded on the principals set forth, in part, from the Nuremberg Tribunal. If our soldiers are brought up on trial, they’ll talk about orders. If our Officers are brought up on trial, they’ll talk about where those orders came from.
And, if that happens, you’re going to see “Pigs Fly”, because, Bush and friends will never allow that to get in their way.

‘Nuff Said.

Vets and the Coward
By DOUG THOMPSON

Aug 24, 2005, 02:10

The man who dishonored American veterans by hiding out from the Vietnam War in the Texas Air National Guard added insult to injury this week by shamelessly invoking memories of those who died in war as a pathetic excuse to continue his illegal and failed war in Iraq.

Bush’s lame attempt so disgusted veterans attending the VFW annual convention in Salt Lake City that many of them wore “B.S. Protector” ear muffs during his speech to the group on Monday.

Memo to the dimwit now living at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue: When the vets who actually fought for their country stop buying your bullshit you’re in a lot of trouble.

Truth is, veterans, especially those who served in Vietnam, have long distrusted Dubya. They know he hid out from war, using his daddy’s connections to get bumped to the head of the line to get in the Texas Air National Guard to avoid serving in Southeast Asia. They’ve seen the enlistment documents where he opted out of overseas service, an extra step to make sure he stayed stateside during the war.

COWS
Is it just me, or does anyone else find it amazing that our government can track a cow born in Canada almost three years ago, right to the stall where she sleeps in the state of Washington, and they tracked her calves to their stalls.
But they are unable to locate 11 million illegal aliens wandering around our country.
Maybe we should give them all a cow.

CONSTITUTION
They keep talking about drafting a Constitution for Iraq.
Why don’t we just give them ours?
It was written by a lot of really smart guys, it’s worked for over 200 years and we’re not using it anymore.

TEN COMMANDMENTS
The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments in a Courthouse?
You cannot post “Thou Shalt Not Steal,” “Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery”
and “Thou Shall Not Lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges and politicians…
It creates a hostile work environment.

And Last but not least…..

George Carlin said it best about Martha Stewart …
“Boy, I feel a lot safer now that she’s behind bars. O.J. Simpson and
Kobe Bryant are still walking around; Osama Bin Laden too,
but they take the one woman in America willing to cook, clean,
and work in the yard, and haul her ass off to jail.”
