It is ‘ol DamSpot’s understanding that it’s against the law to suggest/publish/discuss the possibility that the Holocaust didn’t happen/wasn’t as bad as described/was not the Nazi’s fault.
Do I believe it happened?
I believe that a large number of people who were not sympathetic to the current political climate were imprisoned. I also believe, due to the fortunes of war, such as attempts to extract information from ‘the enemy’, people died and were killed. And I also believe that poison gas was used to accomplish the ends, to the means.
As a German, I also know that many Catholics, Lutherans, Gypsies and Muslims were imprisoned and killed, for the same reasons.
What I also know, is that the United States, under the leadership of George Bush, is committing crimes every bit as hideous as those by the Nazi’s. The only difference is that at Nuremburg, the Germans could honestly say, they were following orders, during a time of war.
We are not in a state of war. We have not declared war on any of the countries that we militarily occupy, at this time, and furthermore, the combatants that we have captured, we fly out of their countries to question and torture.
We also hold their previous leaders in sham trials, accusing them of crimes which we either supported, in the past, or supplied the weapons for.
So, do I believe that the Holocaust happened?
Yes it is. And…..the enemy is us.
