Everyday, more and more Americans become dissatisfied with their government. It seems to be one thing after another. A war we have no business being in. Another war on the horizon to distract us from the current one. Crooked politicians, the numbers that even by Watergates Standards are phenomenal, over priced fuel, from over profitable corporations and on and on. Republican, Democrat…..they’re all the same.
But there is hope. Our own constitution gives you and me the power to take back the government. Keep in mind that this was written when Pitch Forks and Shovels were popular tools to resolve differences. The means we would use now is why the NRA is barely holding on.
That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. Prudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shown, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object, evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.
What this doesn’t say is go to the polls and vote another group of liars and thieves into office.
We must take our lives into our own hands and do it now. 2008 won’t make any difference as the way things are going, there may not be an election that year.
