DamSpots Roll of the Dice

Well, so far we are looking at a Romney/Clinton match-up on election day. Mind you, this is only based on a very few primaries.
But, we have to look at what we are going to end up with now.

Since there will be the same Congress and Senate in 2009, we can basically expect the same partisanship that we have now.
Oh, they’re will calls for investigations of the Bush administration. The democrats are going to make old excuses as to why we must remain in Iraq.
Iran, if not bombed by then will become a non-issue.
Romney will be a curiosity to everyone in the world, since there are only Mormons in the US. So, he’ll get a free ride ticket for awhile, as long as he can keep his mouth shut.
Clinton will be fending off all sorts of charges, old and new about financial dealings and will be wasting time on that. Unless she pulls something important off very quickly, she will be a lame duck her entire term. Bill can’t help her there. Her own party is not particularly fond of her anyway. She didn’t exactly make a lot of friends while Bill was president.

Obama? Ron Paul?

Trust me, if they each have 100,000 votes over there next closest runner, there own conventions would not elect them. The Republicans, in particular would pay someone to shoot Ron Paul if he was the front runner. (If it happens, remember DamSpot said it)
The Dem’s will be far more subtle. They would nominate Obama, but make Clinton his VP and they would get the Cheney puppet effect.

Unfortunately, being young and Black Obama is going to have a tough credibility gap to jump. And with Clinton, as a VP, it isn’t going to get any better.

Whatever the outcome, we should be ready for a bumpy ride.

The History of Politics

Filed under: Opinion, Shoot 'em All

‘Ask not, what your country can do for you, ask what your country can DO to you.’

That should be the quote from every politician in every election.
One wants to lower taxes….a plus, except for the fact that the tax base has shrunk due to Nafta and all the industry that has left the country.
One wants to raise taxes…..a negative except for the fact that the country is literally broke.

As much as one says that they are cutting taxes, there have been significant tax increases in sales tax, gasoline tax, cigarette tax, liquor tax, motor vehicle tax. However, these same groups help subsidize farmers NOT to grow crops, prop up the diary farmers forcing the cost over $3.00 a gallon, and continue to support an ever expanding war. The only taxes that are being cut are for the upper percentage of wage earners and Corporations in order to “stimulate the economy”.
Yeah, I’m stimulated alright.

Then theres the group who wants to raise taxes. Over the years, they have also supported the Pork Barrel programs mentioned above, as much as they pretend to disagree with them all. One only has to look at their voting records to see that statement is true.
Will they raise taxes on the rich? Possibly, but they will also restore many deductions that were removed which will have the same result as the other program. Oh, this will cause Bill Gates to give a couple more million to starving Africans, all the while earning that total back in about 10 minutes.

Then theres the people who won’t get press. who won’t get heard, that want a fair flat tax, a fair medical support system, the elimination of troops in all countries, provided by the US, and have no interest in religious PAC’s or any others.
These people will be cast aside because they are nut’s. Why are they nuts? Because they are not spouting the same, tired rhetoric that we have been hypnotized into listening to. One only needs to go back and read Ross Perot or Ron Paul.
Nether one will ever be elected because they don’t make sense, according to what the American public has been trained to hear.

The American people, in order to continue to pretend, that we are the greatest country on earth, will, like lemmings, continue to jump off the cliff, rather than stand back and actually give the common sense approach to politics rather then the flash and bang of the current cast of characters.

Jut remember the following quote:

“The problem with political jokes is they get elected.”

It’s That Time Again

Once again it is time to attempt to pick the lessor evil of a couple of dozen presidential choices.
Once again, a lot of people will be depending on Diebold to count things their way.
The biggest difference this year is that no one will ever believe that John McCain can win if his Neo Con buddies at Diebold throw it like they did for Bush.
His family doesn’t own the supreme court.
However, electing Bill Clinton, Jr, whoops!!!!! I mean Hillary would be a serious mistake.
I like a crook like the next person. I would still vote for Nixon. I guess we could write him in. Wouldn’t be the first dead man to win an election!
But, Hillary will have to spend all her time defending her shady transactions with all her and Bill’s contributers.
So, I guess it’s all up to Obama. They won’t let Ron Paul win, even though he’s this years best choice.
Maybe since ‘Big O’ is a Muslim will hear some good Jew jokes.

Please Dear God!

Would everyone please stop using the HOLOCAUST as an analogy or as a reason for damn near everything that ever happened to the Jews?

How about talking about the GENOCIDE being committed in NO RELIGIONS name on the Palestinians.
Yes rockets are being launched into Israel. Yes rocks are being thrown at Israeli soldiers,

As a Jew, what would or have you done in the past, when you have been forced into a corner?
If I remember correctly, you violently threw the British out in 1947.
If I remember correctly, you have defied every UN resolutions. As a matter of FACT, more than any other country in the world.
Stole nuclear material from the United States. Took Arab territory that belonged to them and are beating the world to a slow, irritating death concerning an event that occurred over 60 years ago.
They hung Saddam for less!

Let me tell you a little side story.
My Granddaughter is in the 3rd grade. She knows there is a Holocaust museum in Washington. On December the 7th, I asked what they did for Pearl Harbor day. She actually asked what was Pearl harbor.
How much longer before kid’s only know that Jews were killed in WW2?
How much longer will it be that they won’t be told of the MILLIONS of people who gave their lives during the war so that the Jews would even have any where to live?

All offense intended, would ya’ll please shut the hell up about the HOLOCAUST?
