No if’s, and’s or but’s, Dell Computers are junk.
Dell leases millions of computers to corporations all over the US. When the leases are up, they sell skid loads of these computers to wholesalers, who turn them around and sell them on places like EBay, Pacific Geek, Tiger Direct, to name a few.
They take these machines, clean them up, remove any additional high value items such as extra RAM, large hard drives, TV cards, and sell these separately. They install a Windows Operating System and sell them at a very cheap price as starter computers for school kids or those with low expectations.
Dell Computers have notoriously bad mother boards, which is the heart and soul of the whole machine. Usually the on board video cards go first, capacitors leak, and then the entire computer just fails to start one day after that.
So, now what you have, is a gray doorstop.
If the computers, that they sell or lease to corporations at a premium price, as compared to the consumer models fail this badly after a few years of use, I can only imagine that the dumps are full of consumer Dell desktops and laptops.
Save your money. You will get longer life and a better machine if you go to Walmart and buy an Emachine, or HP. They’ll run forever.
