Dear Barack

Dear Mr Obama,
You are coming into the final lap of the race for President and there are a few things you need to work harder on.
Stay away from 3rd rail politics like Social Security And Health Care issues. Focus your energy on the illegal war and what you would propose to put a speedy end to our involvement. That will automatically free up money for future programs after you are elected.
Stay away from talking about bailing out the people who willingly gambled on the housing market and lost. Same with the lending institutions and credit card companies. They weren’t ignorant, just greedy.
Talk to the companies who are in the process of or already have outsourced. Make it feasible to do business in the US as opposed to China, and Mexico by reading the next sentence.
Encourage more people to get out and work, while assuring a raise in the minimum wage. The biggest squawkers will not be the small guy’s, but those who have outsourced. Use that as a hammer to bring their manufacturing back here.
Ask the oil companies that if they are using their excess profits to do exploration, then why isn’t there an oil drill working in every back yard in this nation.
Stay away from discussing Hillary. Right now, she has a huge rock around her neck and sinking fast. Every time you mention her name, that rock will get lighter. Let her sink herself.
On the other hand, a few pointed jabs at McCain won’t hurt. A discussion about how he first hated Bush and then decided to flip flop on just about every program after that will ’swift boat’ him for sure. There is no defense for flip flop.
Speak to the military. Get out on the bases and meet the soldiers, especially the marines. For some reason they feel that the Republicans are next to God when it comes to budgets. Assure them that any soldier who returns from Iraq or any other country, will be given a job protecting the borders here in America. Right now they are not concerned about the budget as much as getting their butts blown off. But, given down time, their eyes will focus on that ‘Democratic gutting’ of the military budget. If you must reduce the budget, apply the difference to the VA and out patient services for returning Vets. This will put you over the top with the military.

All I can add, is, so far, you are as clean as a virgin when it comes to politics. People will listen and believe. Don’t screw it up with weird rhetoric that is so famous in the world of politics.
Listen to ‘ol DamSpot. Trust me. I’ve seen ‘em come and go. And they all made the above mistakes. Don’t speak for the PAC’s, speak for and to the people.

Are You Really Ready?

When Tom Ridge was in charge of Homeland Security (Remember the color chart?) He encouraged people to purchase cases of bottled water, plastic sheeting and my favorite….Duct Tape.
This was a pretty funny list, considering that I grew up in the generation who thought that ducking under your school desk would save you from an Atomic Blast.

However, we do need to have a list pretty soon, unless you want to be eating at soup kitchens in another 6 months.

Do try to stock up on canned foods, but be warned that canned tomato products and mushrooms do not have a long shelf life.
Pick low acid foods that you cannot grow in your own gardens. High acid foods, such as many garden grown fruits can be home canned in jars.

As far as frozen foods, as long as you have electricity will work fine. Having a generator helps as long as you can get fuel, so it’s advisable, despite the current prices, to store gasoline in approved containers in locked sheds away from the house. How much is anyones guess.

Having a hand gun or rifle is also a good idea. Keep a few thousand rounds of ammunition separate from the weapon, but close enough if needed.

Having a large water garden (Pond) dug in your yard is a good source of water in an emergency. Boiling water in a pinch will work, and you can keep bass and trout as pets until needed.

Try and keep as little cash in a bank as you can. If a bank goes down at the same time as the government, the FDIC isn’t going to save your ass.

Get rid of credit cards. When all else fails, those bastards will still come after you for their money. Same with any mutual stocks.

Know your neighbors. Even in an apartment complex you can all help each other and repel any problems that may occur. Remember, homeless people, no matter what class they came from are going to be terribly desperate scrounging food, water and fuel. The suburbs are no safer no matter how far from the city you are.

And for God’s sake, watch your children. There are idiots out there who will steal them and use them for currency.

Trust me, if you think anything you read about 1929 is scary, you haven’t seen anything yet!

Thanks, George Bush.

I’ll say it again. The American people are a bunch of freekin’ Sheeples. Weak kneed, dunder headed pussies.

Anybody following that ass hole Bush around with a snipers scope? If not, you ain’t doing your job.

Sheeples

Went to the gas station this morning and had the oddest thought, that I was actually happpy to be paying two cents a gallon less than I did last week.
With gas over $3.00 a gallon, why would I feel that way?
It’s because I’m a sheeple. And, what is a sheeple you ask?

A sheeple is a capitalist consumer.

A capitalist consumer knows that in a capitalistic society, such as ours, a person can strive to become rich by selling items at what the market will bare.

Now, having said this and knowing that despite the cost of oil per the barrel is high, and also knowing that oil companies are making record profits and giving huge bonuses to their CEO’s, we sheeples do nothing, because we are capitalists first and sheeples second.

We have chosen this type of government and this system of free enterprise due to all the other freedoms it affords us.
However, there is no reason why us sheeples cannot rise up against the oil companies and the government that helps to prop up these costs with taxes and say that we have finally had enough. The old flaming torches and pitch forks didn’t die with the middle ages. They were just replaced by lawyers. Well, us sheeples know lawyers don’t work, so it’s time to appear in front of the capitals, representative offices, and oil companies with torches and pitch forks once again.

If the only thing that these people understand is war, then let’s give them one.

We Have a Problem

The problem is in Houston, Washington, Chicago, or New York.
We are paying entirely too much for consumer goods. Consumer goods, includes Gasoline.
Day after day, we hear of Gasoline Companies setting record profits while the price creep ever higher at the pump.

As a capitalistic society this is how the system works. But, the system also says that a man is to be paid a fair wage for a fair day’s work.
When oil and fuel goes up, so go freight charges, anything made of plastic, utilities, food and on and on.

If a fair days wage no longer supports that worker, then someone has to step in a set the situation straight.

Between January 1 and February 29, 86,000 workers lost their jobs.

In some cases, they will be permitted to collect unemployment for 26 weeks. Most, only 13. Not only do they, in most cases, have no health care, but after their Unemployment insurance runs out, they’ll have no prospects either.

It’s an election year. Nothing gets done during an election year. The lame duck president does nothing. No new government contracts are issued or approved. The congress and the senate might as well not be there at all.
And, no one gives a rats ass what any of the candidates have to say. But, will any of those same people still be around or care at election time?

Wake up, Dammit! People are dying, people are starving, children are being abandoned, whole families are living in cars, tent and parks.
I’m talking about the United States, people! Not some third world back hole.

My friend, a good Christian man I asked where his church’s money was going as far as helping people. He admitted that while some was used for local families in need, the bulk was going over seas. He said that’s pretty much the same for most congregations.
This at a time when Israel, one of the richest countries, in the world, receives in excess of $80 billion dollars a year from our government as a line item budget. People, they are budgeted like school lunches!!!

For God’s sake, please do something. I am personally 2 steps away from living the rest of my life in a wheel chair and cannot help any further than to tell you readers the truth.

Voting won’t help.

An old sage once said “One person throwing a pebble in a river will not stop the flow. A thousand people throwing pebbles will slow the flow. But a million people throwing pebbles will stop the flow.”

Help stop the flow any way you can. Take any risk. Break any law. Stop the Flow!

It’s Begun

Someone today blew up a bomb outside of a recruiting office in New York.
Really rather insignificant on the surface.

But it has deeper roots than just an ‘incident’.

People are sick and tired of this government. They are sick of the police state that has been formed by the Bush/Cheney Kabul.
This is just the first of many things that have been identified. But, perhaps some of the gas line, oil refinery, and warehouse fires are also ‘incidents’.

I believe that more and more people are about to strike back at this government, in more ways than all the politicians will have ever accomplished.

I believe the correct term is “BALLS”

HELP!!!

I received an e-mail tonight from a friend of mine, whose site I write for once in a while, Joey Picador. He writes JUSTICE FOR NONE .
His niece is in a world of trouble with her health care provider. Here is an excerpt from the article.

She Was Only Fourteen

Saturday, February 09 2008 @ 10:18 AM PST
Contributed by: CinDan
General NewsShe was only 14 years old when she was an eighth grader, a cheerleader, a young, vibrant girl with her whole life ahead of her. She was only 14 years old, when she enjoyed her last year of life as a normal, healthy girl.

She was only 15 years old, when she started chemotherapy for Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare form of childhood cancer that attacks the bones. She lost her hair, had the cancerous bone in her pelvis removed, and then her lungs started to deteriorate.

She lived through her 16th year with an oxygen bottle her closest companion, as her lung function approached a mere 20% of normal capacity.

In May of 2007, she was only 17 years old, when she finally had a double lung transplant, to replace lungs killed by interstices lung disease, brought on by the chemotherapy which saved her from the bone cancer.

When her health insurance is canceled later this year, it will be canceled with the simple explanation that she has reached her “lifetime maximum benefits.”

And she has just turned 18…

Her name is Brittani. She is my niece. And she needs your help.

Damspot isn’t asking you do do anything but read the post. Let your heart tell you what needs to be done.

Thanks!

Welcome to election year 2008.
It’s a bit early for this but GET OUT AND VOTE!

Thanks to Those….

Damspot would like to thank the approx. 23% who got out and voted.
To the rest of you….WTF???
You bitch, complain and holler. But, do you vote to change it? Apparently not. I heard assholes bitching as early as this morning. When asked if they voted, they said ‘hell no’.

2008 is coming. Those who don’t vote, can get the fuck out of MY country. Preferably before the election so that the rest of us won’t have to hunt your sorry ass’s down!

The Case for a National Health System

There have been a lot of ideas tossed around about a National Health Care System.
Everyone knows that the cost of drugs, particularly with the newer ones, are very expensive.
We also know that doctors and hospitals would have to except standardize fees, as negotiated by the government.

The largest argument is that by socializing medicine, you are changing our form of government.

Well, here’s how the system works now.

A person has no health insurance, but has to go in the hospital. By law, the hospital must treat these people.
Afterwards, the hospital and doctors will bill several times and then sell the accounts to a collection agency.

But, thats not where it stops.

The hospital and Doctors who hire the collection agency turn around and ‘write the bills off’ as a business loss, which reduces their tax liability.
And, the poor person, who can’t pay the bill, continues to be dunned and have their credit ruined.

So, that person declares bankruptcy.

The collection agency, then writes off their loss from their taxes, thereby double screwing the government.

Thats not socialism, when the government is already supporting the billers by forgiving their tax liabilities?

Eliminate the time, stress and bullshit involved with the whole system.

Give the doctors free education, with the caveat that they will work for less.
Give the hospitals tax free status, no matter who owns them, also with the caveat that they will accept structured fees.

It’s either that, or we will continue to have some of the worst health care in the world……free or third world.
